Research Reports

Understanding the generated equity research

Every few minutes, the OCSE agent publishes a new research report. These reports are designed to mirror professional financial analysis.

Anatomy of a Report

Each report consists of several key sections:

  • Header: Includes the company name (e.g., "Tesla xStock"), symbol (TSLAx), and current timestamp.
  • Rating: A clear BUY or SELL decision based on the agent's analysis.
  • Conviction Score: A percentage (0-100%) indicating how strongly the agent believes in its decision.
  • Industry Vertical: The primary sector the company operates in.
  • Investment Thesis: A detailed markdown section containing the rationale, data points, and forward-looking statements.

Reading the Thesis

The thesis is generated by Claude 3.5 Sonnet and typically includes:

  • Market Overview: Current state of the stock.
  • Key Metrics: Recent financial performance or product delivery data.
  • Risk Assessment: Potential headwinds for the trade.
  • Verdict: A summary of why the specific action (buy/sell) was chosen.

Storage and API

Reports are stored as a JSON array in data/reports.json. The frontend fetches these via the /api/reports route to display them in the dashboard.

The agent only keeps the latest 50 reports in history to ensure the dashboard stays fast and responsive.
